Greyhound Hemingway—and all of us at Racing Dog Retirement Project– are SO grateful to the Martha Leiter and Nancy Streetman Fund l of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County! They have provided RDRP with a grant for $3025 to fund the Greyhound Spay and Neuter Project…and Hemingway is first up! Hurrah!
These funds will be used to spay/neuter 25 Greyhounds and will allow us to decrease the amount of time between arrival and adoption. Being able to have these medical procedures completed as soon as the dogs arrive from the track is going to allow us to get all of our dogs in loving homes so much quicker. This will also decrease unfavorable behaviors associated with hormones too! It will increase their adoptability by allowing increased socialization with other dogs while at RDRP–as well as participation in Meet and Greets.
Thank you to volunteer Gail Clifton and all the wonderful professionals at Animal Hospital at Lakewood Ranch.
Thank you, so much, to Martha Leiter and Nancy Streetman Fund I of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County for caring about what we do at RDRP–and for providing this important support for our Greyhounds who are in the process of finding loving forever homes!
