Saba, a beautiful blue brindle boy arrived at RDRP on April 16th. Though shy, he was adjusting nicely until something went very wrong!
We noticed on arrival that Saba had cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testes fail to descend from the abdomen into the scrotum. This condition is fairly rare and always requires a more complex surgery and recovery along with risks of complications.
On April 29th we observed a very swollen – nearly baseball sized – testicle that was turning dark purple! Our regular Vet office, Lakewood Ranch Animal Hospital determined it was an emergency and sent us to Suncoast Veterinary in Sarasota.
Saba received excellent care and is now healing from a long surgery. Everything looks good so far and he will be monitored by RDRP volunteers for the next 14 days.
Please send prayers for a swift and uncomplicated recovery! We are asking for your donations to help RDRP in paying his medical fees.
