Rory – Special needs hound needs a special home.
Birth Date: 2.1.2014
This is a soft-hearted guy who LONGS to be back in the right home for him.
What Rory truly needs is a Greyhound savvy and committed person or couple. A quiet home with some space and a fenced yard would be perfect. He needs a quiet neighborhood, residential or rural.
Rory’s story is not a very happy one so far, but the right person and a calm home environment should change all of that! He is starting to bond with two of our male volunteers using eye contact and asking for companionship. This beautiful sweet fawn was returned for the second time recently. He is a quiet and tranquil guy with a loving heart. His previous families said he was the perfect hound 99.5% of the time.
He likes to spend most of his time lounging and quiet walks, being talked to and petted on his terms. He mostly likes to be left alone at this time. He is currently on Prozac which could be a life long regime for anxiety and depression. He has been medically cleared physically and neurologically. We call him Eyore.
Once adopted, a professional behaviorist is recommended as it may prove to be beneficial.
He has some sensitivity to loud noises and sudden movements. He will need some space and understanding to figure out who he is and a human that truly desires to see him flourish.
He is pensive and understated… a wonderful boy!
