Share your home with a hound for a little while… and make a HUGE difference!
Every greyhound we place in a foster home creates kennel space for another greyhound here at the Adoption Center!
Our kennels are almost full with 20 beauties residing at the moment with more coming in SOON filling our center to capacity. With the closing of the SRQ Track May 4th, there are MANY greyhounds needing space. Every kennel space we can open up allows us to accept another greyhound. We are always in need of responsible and dedicated foster caregivers to help our greyhounds adjust to home-life. Fostering greyhounds is one of the most important and rewarding things that you can do.
If you have fostered for RDRP before please consider doing so again in this time of greyt need.
If you are new to fostering, we will provide all the support and training you need… plus a lovable and GREYTFUL houndie will think of you as his or her hero!
We also have a few houndies that need short term medical fosters. Two of our boys have cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testes fail to descend from the abdomen into the scrotum. These greys can have a MUCH higher risk for cancer so they need attention ASAP! Learn more about short term fostering here. RDRP received a special grant for the Greyhound Spay and Neuter Project from the Martha Leiter and Nancy Streetman Fund I of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.
